April Wrap-Up: Kings, France, and Endings

Hi everybody! It’s another month gone, so here’s another wrap-up!

To be honest, April has been slow going. It was almost halfway through the month when I realized I’d only read three/four books. Sometimes, it’s just one of those months where you just don’t read much. And that’s okay.

But I did have a come back and finished with eight books read this month!

There were some fantastic books in the mix, and some not so great. I did manage to read all the physical books I own so that in itself is a great accomplishment.

Alright, without further ado:

The King of Attolia by Megan Whalen Turner

Recommend it? Absolutely! This book is, by far, my favourite Queen’s Thief novel. I loved everything about it. I didn’t like that it wasn’t from Gen’s POV, but the snippets of his and Attolia’s relationship and love gave me life.

A Conspiracy of Kings by Megan Whalen Turner

Recommend it? After the magnificence of The King of Attolia, I was greatly disappointed by A Conspiracy of Kings. I came into this series expecting a continuous story, but every book was from someone else’s POV, and followed their own storyline with some overlapping. I didn’t like that. I don’t really like/care for Sophos so this book didn’t captivate me. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Thick as Thieves by Megan Whalen Turner

Recommend it? I DNF this book so that tells you all about how I felt about it.

Enchantée by Gita Trelease

Recommend it? YES! Absolutely, yes. It has been too long since I read a fantasy novel that I loved such as this, but everything about it.

Lucky in Love by Kasie West

Recommend it? I loved Seth and the unique premise of Lucky in Love. This is defiantly one of my more favourite Kasie West books and I would defiantly recommend it!

Immortal Reign by Morgan Rhodes

Recommend it? I finally read Immortal Reign and finished the Falling Kingdoms series and I loved it! I felt like it concluded the series quite well. I’d recommend this series to those who don’t mind minimal romance in books, and politically heavy books!

P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han

Recommend it? So this was very cute and had a childish feel to it that I really enjoyed. It’s different from the movie since that’s what’s on everyone’s mind. But I did enjoy it and I can’t wait to for the movie!

Listen to Your Heart by Kasie West

Recommend it? Okay, so this book made me want to listen and be on a podcast. It’s another good Kasie West book. I enjoyed the drama and back and forth between the feelings of the characters. I defiantly recommend it!

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkins

Recommend it? I’ll be the first to say that I’m not a paranormal fan, but The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer gripped me in and didn’t let me go. It’s been awhile since I sat and read 100 pages in one sitting, but this book found me doing that. I’m currently reading the second book and very much enjoying it!

So here are all the books I’ve read this month! Do you see any you’ve read? What did you think of it?

Thank you for reading and see you next time ❤
