June Wrap-Up: Little Reading, Monsters, and Favourites

We made it through another month! This past month has been crazy, and I think it’s accurately reflected in how many books I’ve read this month.

So, this is a short post since there aren’t as many books. But here’s to next month being longer!

Let’s get to it:

The Luxe by Anna Godbersen

Recommend it? I went into this book very sceptical. And I was seriously reconsidering ordering the whole series. But I’m glad I did because I really enjoyed it! It’s no artistic mastery, but it’s so entertaining. It’s like watching a mindless show that’s all about the nasty side of the rich, historical glamour, society, scandals, drama, and more. I defiantly recommend it!

Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi

Recommend it? I really like the Shatter Me series. It’s my favourite series to go back to, one that I know I would like. I read it pretty fast because I just wanted to spend time with the characters and the story. I really liked the story, it was enjoyable. The plot wasn’t strong, but entertainment is usually what dictates how much I like the book and this one rated pretty high. I’d defiantly recommend it!

Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia

Recommend it? This book is probably one of my favourite books of the year! I didn’t go in expecting it to be this great, but many favourites are found this way. Everything in this book, from the representation of anxiety to the romance, the comic and art, to the characters, was amazing. This book holds such a special place in my heart now. I read it from the library but I just might purchase my own copy. So, yes, I defiantly recommend!

Mirage by Somaiya Daud

Recommend it? I was really excited to get to this book. It seemed like something I’d really enjoy, with the forbidden love, and Middle Eastern feel it. Unfortunately, it feel flat for me. I couldn’t care for the characters, and the romance was too insta-love. It wasn’t for me, but plenty of people did so try it if you’re interested!

That’s my wrap-up for this month! I hope to do better in July but we’ll see.

Thank you for reading and see you next time ❤
