Nights like this were meant to be shared, remembered, and talked about for years. Skies like this were meant to be kissed under.

I’ll start by saying that Barbie and the 12 Dancing Princesses is one of my favourite Barbie movies and I would not have guessed in a million years that this is a retelling of it from just the title and cover.
While I did enjoy this book while reading it, after I finished it I kept bumping down my rating. It went from 4.5 to 3.5, but I’m happy with this one!
I was hesitant to start this book. It’s not my usual cup of tea, but I was surprised by how much I did enjoy it.
I was disappointed with the romance and the ending was too rushed and predictable. It was never really explained and I wished there was a little bit more. I would have liked more conversations and build-up for the romance between Annaleigh and Cassius. Most of their scenes were a bit of kissing and declarations of love but they barely had time to fall in love.
I did like that we never really knew if what she saw or heard is real or not, the unreliability made it all the more fun!
The plot twist was predictable—I could tell it was who it was that made the deal. But I did not really think the father was that awful.
Also, things got resolved too nicely. The climax was pretty anticlimactic, and I expected more of a fight before everything was okay.
All in all, I did enjoy this book even though I wished it was a little bit more developed, especially since it was pretty long!
Thank you for reading and see you next time ❤
