It’s easy not to be disappointed when you’re always wading in the shallow end of feelings.

I loved Maureen Goo’s other book, I Believe in a Thing Called Love, when I read it last summer. It was funny and the perfect summer read! So for my summer reading challenge, this book felt perfect.
This book is really cute! It’s the perfect summer read, and I recommend it for anyone who wants a light-hearted read with great friendships, cute romance, and a heartfelt father-daughter relationship.
Clara starts off as the “class clown” and a prankster. She doesn’t take anything seriously and just jokes around. But by the end of the book she starts to care about things and is genuine with her feelings. The character development was great and I had the best time following Clara on this journey.
Rose and Clara start as enemies, but then they become the best of friends and it’s amazing. Rose has never had a friend before but she finds that with Clara and I relate so much. It was the best to see their friendship strengthen over time.
The romance wasn’t my favourite aspect of this book, but I was okay with that. Usually, the romance can make or break a book for me, but The Way You Make Me Feel has so much more going for it that it doesn’t matter. Hamlet is adorable and I love his earnestness in everything. I felt like it was a little too insta-love for my liking, though.
The star of this book though is probably Clara’s relationship with her dad. I literally teared up at the end. He’s obviously a great dad and I loved reading about a positive relationship between teenager and parent, especially a daughter and father.
Overall, this was an amazing book that is really fun to read!
Thank you for reading and see you next time ❤
