This book was the perfect break from all the contemporaries I’ve been reading! It had a lot of elements that I enjoy: a bit of history, time traveling-ish, good romance, and an interesting plot with a bit of mystery to solve.

Transcendence follows a girl, Cole, who discovers that she’s part of a group of people who remember their previous lives. She also meets a boy, Griffon, who is a part of this group and shows her the ropes. Add another character, Veronique, who we suspect might be in Cole’s life to enact revenge for what was done to her in a different lifetime.

The plot was very interesting, and I really loved the flashbacks into Cole’s previous lifetimes, especially the one in England. The sequel focuses more on that lifetime and I’m excited to read it!

Cole was a good character. She wasn’t too infuriating with her actions, even though I sometimes wanted to yell at her for not seeing things when they seemed so obvious. But overall that didn’t take away too much from my enjoyment of the book.

Griffon was also a good character. He’s not my favourite love interest, but he did well in this book. I didn’t expect his connection to Cole to be what it was, that plot twist was defiantly unseen.

Overall this was a pretty good book that is perfect for some light fantasy-ish books.

Thank you for reading and see you next time ❤
