Books I Read in Quarantine (Part 1)

Blogging Tips LinkedIn Post HeaderWhile quarantine has been a very different experience, something I never thought I’d live through, it also has been the best time for my reading. I have read a lot of books during these last few months, defiantly more than what I would’ve if there was no quarantine.

Amongst these books there were awesome, meh, and downright awful books. A diverse collection of books from different genres and styles, and I’ll be talking about them in this (and a few other, because the list is long) blog post!

Starting on March 13th, which was the last day of school before quarantine (fitting that it was Friday the Thirteenth):

Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles

Cute and was the perfect “trashy” book to read during this time. 5/5

Rules of Attraction by Simone Elkeles

Not as good as the first book. 2/5

If I’m Being Honest by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka

Loved the Shakespeare in the story! 4/5

Nowhere But Here by Katie McGarry

Not what I hoped it would be at all. I wanted another “trashy” novel but instead it was just a mess that I don’t remember much of. 2/5

One of Us is Next by Karen M. McManus

Just as amazing as the first book! 5/5

Crow Lake by Mart Lawson

So. Much. Prose. So much description and talk and it just went on and on and on. 2/5

The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black

Amazing conclusion to the trilogy! 5/5

Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare

So glad to have been back in the Shadowhunter world and met this characters! 5/5

When It’s Real by Erin Watt

I hoped for a nice romance book but it lacked. Not as cute as her other book! 3/5

Chain Reaction by Simone Elkeles

This one was much better than the second book! 4/5

The Revolution of Birdie Randolph by Brandy Colbert

I loved this book so much. 5/5

You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle

I laughed way too much while reading this. I can’t wait for Sarah Hogle’s next book! 5/5

Let Me Hear a Rhyme by Tiffany D. Jackson and lyrics by Malik “Malik-16” Sharif

SO GOOD. 5/5

Shadow Me by Tahereh Mafi

It’s Kenji, need I say more? 5/5

Defy Me by Tahereh Mafi

Probably one of my favourite in the whole series! 5/5

Love from A to Z by S. K. Ali

A really cute Muslim love story! 5/5

An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Roberson

Kinda boring. 2/5

Capturing the Devil by Kerri Maniscalco

Couldn’t stop reading this! 5/5

Izzy + Tristan by Shannon Dunlap

I don’t even remember most of this book. 2/5

Supernova by Marissa Meyer

I’m still not okay after that ending! 5/5

Reveal Me by Tahereh Mafi

Again, Kenji. 5/5

Dear Haiti, Love Alain by Maika Moulite and Maritza Moulite

Entertaining but not a favourite. 3/5

I Love You So Mochi by Sarah Kuhn

Cute but also not a favourite. 3/5

Ignite the Stars by Maura Milan

A science-fiction read that was pretty action packed! 3.5/5

Tweet Cute by Emma Lord

I’ve been waiting for this book since it was first announced and it was the best! 5/5

Rebel by Marie Lu

Disappointing and unnecessary, to be honest. 3/5

Macbeth by William Shakespeare

Read it for school and it’s not bad! Non-rated

House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig

Different from what I usually read but entertaining! 3.5/5

Imagine Me by Tahereh Mafi

Biggest disappointment of the year 😦 3/5

The Betrothed by Kiera Cass

I felt like I went back to 2010/2012 YA. It was not good. 1/5

And this brings us to the beginning of June! There’s a part two with the rest of the books.
