Welcome to another week of Epic Epilogue, I can’t believe it’s already been three weeks! If you’re still reading, thank you. If you’re just starting to, welcome! It’s nice to have you 🙂
This week I’ll be discussing one of my favourite contemporary books that I read this year, and it’s:
Jackpot by Nic Stone

The e-book edition I was reading from had a gorgeous gold cover, but for some reason this is the only cover available on Goodreads.
Nevertheless, the inside of this book (the story) is absolutely beautiful. I could not stop reading, while at the same time not wanting it to end. Which is a dilemma many readers have faced before, am I right?
Everything about this book was gold. The characters, the relationships (romantic, platonic, familial, etc), the plot, the writing, just everything was fantastic. I have a review that goes into more details about what I loved here.
The one thing that stood out in this book and completely sets it apart from others, though? The fact that this book has chapters from various non-loving items that the characters pass throughout the story. It’s hilarious and adds an extra kick to the story, it goes “above and beyond” and really earns that A+ (or five star rating, in this case).
Jackpot is a beautiful story that I love, and continue to love even months after I’ve finished it. For the hours it takes to read it, you will smile, laugh, cry, swoon, and it’ll be the best time you’ve had. I read this book while staying at home during the pandemic. Everything is unknown and the future looks bleak. But sometimes we get moments of sunshine and light, be it from music or books or movies. I got it with this book.
Have you read this book? Have you read any of Nic Stone’s other books? What did you think of them? Let’s talk in the comments!
Thank you for reading and see you next time ❤
