SPIN THE DAWN
Author(s): Elizabeth Lim
Stand-alone or Series: The Blood of Stars #1

The synopsis just made me fall in love with this book, and the cover? Gorgeous!
Spin the Dawn is such a luscious and beautiful story. Maia is a very talented seamstress but since she’s a girl, she can’t be as successful and become a Imperial Tailor. But when her dad is called upon to compete for the position, she disguised herself as a man and participates. There, she meets Edan, the Lord Enchanter, and embarks on a quest to sew the sun, moon, and stars into dresses. This story has a bit of Mulan, Project Runaway, and even Howl’s Moving Castle.
I absolutely loved the characters. Maia and Edan were really great protagonists, and I enjoyed following their journey together. The romance between them was adorable, and I can’t wait to see more of them in the next book!
The writing was so easy to read and flowed really smoothly. I was able to read pages and pages without realizing how far along I was. It was also descriptive without being overwhelming, and so magical that I felt like I could just see the dresses and magic.
Overall, this was a really well done book, and I enjoyed everything from the plot to the characters and romance. I defiantly recommend it!
My final rating is:

Thank you for reading and see you next time ❤
