February is the shortest, coldest, and busiest month of the year. It goes by very fast, which is probably why I like February.
In January I read seven books, and while that is lower than normal, it’s still impressive considering the amount of homework and studying I had. But I’m ready to tackle my TBR and read all the book this month!
Without further ado, this month’s TBR:

American Panda by Gloria Chao
This story follows Mei Lu as she starts MIT, navigates her parents’ expectation and her own dreams, falls for the wrong boy, and reconnects with her brother. I’m already about 90 pages into the book, and I’m loving it so much! It defiantly deals with some tough stuff, and I find that I can only read so much in one sitting, but the heaviness is balanced with Mei’s humour and awkwardness. Chao’s novel is not what I expected, but I’m nevertheless enjoying it!

Starflight and Starfall by Melissa Landers
This story follows Solara Brooks and Doran Spaulding as a series of events finds them onboard of the Banshee, a ship being hunted by its dangerous enemy. With a ship that is now home and a crew that is like family, the two fight against those enemies. I’m so excited to read this duology, as the synopsis sounds amazing. I love big casts of characters, intricate and complex relationships, and chosen families. It’s the same reason I love the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo.
Also, those covers. They’re so beautiful!

The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi
The Gilded Wolves is one of my most anticipated books of 2019, and I almost cried when I finally bought it. Everything about it promises a rich, beautiful, and warm story with a diverse set of characters, chosen family, and complex relationships between characters (you see a pattern?). I have never before read a book by Roshani Chokshi, but this book about a group committing a heist is bound to be a favourite.

Starry Eyes by Jenn Bennett
A sort of Romeo and Juliet retelling is a promising way of describing Bennett’s latest novel. I loved all her other YA books, The Anatomical Shape of a Heart and Alex, Approximately. So, I’m sure I’ll love this one. It follows two best friends turned enemies as they get trapped alone in the wilderness. Enemies turned lovers is also another favourite trope of mine!

City Love #1, 2, and 3 by Susane Colasanti
One of my favourite things to read is mindless trilogies and series. I love just picking up a book, reading it quickly, and with little concentration and focus. Easy. Quick. They’re usually romance-heavy books that deal with other things as well. But the relationships between characters are the driving forces of the books, and that automatically has me sold to read this series. Since I’m all caught up with the Field Party novels, the City Love series looks to be similar!

By Your Side by Kasie West
Kasie West is an author with countless contemporary novels to her Goodreads profile, each one sounding even more amazing than the last. I don’t know why it has taken me this long to start one of her books, but I’m finally starting my Kasie West journey with By Your Side, a story about a pair trapped in the library overnight. It sounds absolutely perfect!
All in all, there are nine books on my February TBR, mostly contemporary novels. That’s fitting since February is the month of Valentine’s Day and love, right?
Have you read any of these books? What did you think of them? What are some books on your February TBR? I’d love to know!
Thank you for reading and see you next time ❤
