Hi everyone! I was tagged to the OMG That Song Book Tag by Luxe from Mind of Luxe, thank you so much! Sorry it took so long, but I couldn’t get to it until now!
My Jam: A song you still listen to no matter how many times you’ve heard it and a book that you’ll never get sick of…
“Leave Me Alone” by Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson is probably one of my favourite artists and I love all his songs. His songs are classics for me. I could never get tired of them, and “Leave Me Alone” is one that spent a good week or so just listening to non-stop.
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
The Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi is probably one of my favourites and I’ve reread Shatter Me a couple of times, which doesn’t happen often! They’re so easy and fun, and I always come back to them for a feel-good book.
Throwback: a song that reminds you of the cringiest time in your life and a book you read that you wouldn’t like if you read it now…
“All Time Low” by Jon Bellion
“All Time Low” is by no means a cringey song, but I listened to this during middle school, and that is a cringey time. I do still listen to Jon Bellion from time to time, but it’s connected with many memories better left alone.
Goddess Girls by Joan Holub and Suzanne Williams
I loved these books when I was in late elementary school! But I don’t think I’ll be a big fan today, I feel like I’ve outgrown them. P.S. Persephone the Phony was my favourite and the start of my love for the myth of Persephone and Hades.
Replay: A recent song that you have on repeat and a recent favourite book…
“Betty” by Taylor Swift
I would put the whole Folklore album, but I will settle for choosing “Betty.” This album is a masterpiece, and the story told between “Cardigan,” “August,” and “Betty” is fantastic! I have the album on repeat since its release.
Always Never Yours by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka
This was the most recent read that I loved! I loved everything about this book, from the way Shakespeare is incorporated, the characters, romance, everything! These authors are defiantly a new favourite, and I can’t wait to read their newest release.
Gets me: a song that is literally me and a book that is me in book form…
“Either Way” by Anthony Ramos
The lyrics in this song represent me a little too well at the moment. I often find myself “sitting in the house” sad, alone, and angry. The song is all about being letting go of your problems and living, and that’s what I’m trying to do!
The Revolution of Birdie Randolph by Brandy Colbert
Like Birdie Randolph, I’m also a perfectionist that works hard to make other people proud. But I’m slowly learning to also live my life and enjoy it!
WUT: A weird song that you liked anyways and a unique book that stuck out to you for some reason…
“iRobot” by Jon Bellion
The lyrics in this song is sci-fi-ish and not something that you’d usually hear in most popular songs! But I do like it.
House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig
I don’t usually read horror or really dark and paranormal books like this, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved it!
Let’s Go: Pick your best pump up song and a book that inspires you…
“Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor
There’s nothing like this song to get me pumped up. I listen to this on the morning of every exam to get ready and de-stress. It works!
I tried to think a lot about a book that inspired me, and I just can’t find anything!
Chill: Your best chill or relaxing song and a book you’d curl up with on a rainy day…
Annabelle’s Homework by Alec Benjamin
This is a slow and relaxing song that is perfect for rainy or cold days. I love this whole album, to be honest. I feel like it’s so underrated and deserves more recognition!
Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco
Nothing like a good mystery on a rainy day! The vibes from this book are perfect for such atmosphere. I would cozy up with a warm blanket, tea, and the sound of the rain while reading this!
Addicting: A guilty pleasure song and a light, trashy read you can’t help but love…
Dancing Queen by ABBA
I wouldn’t call ABBA and “Dancing Queen” trashy, but there’s nothing like dancing to the Mamma Mia soundtrack and imagine you’re relaxing on a beach.
Until Friday Night by Abbi Glines
Nothing like a good sports romance series to binge read. I don’t need a book to be a literary work of genius to enjoy the hell of it, and that what happened with this series. It’s so disappointing that I can’t get my hands on the fourth book. For some reason neither the bookstore or library have it available 😦
Nostalgia: A throwback song you look back on fondly and a book you read and loved when you were young…
“Cheerleader” by Omi
So many great memories is attached to this song. Events, friends, and a simpler life are all associated with this song and it makes me so nostalgic whenever I hear it!
Divergent by Veronica Roth
This is the first book that got me really into reading, especially reading YA. I’m forever grateful that I found this book during a use book sale and bought it, my life was forever changed by it!
And that’s a wrap! Thank you Luxe for the tag, and I tag anyone who wants to do!
Thank you for reading and see you next time,
